Fire and Ice Rods -LTTP-

The Fire and Ice Rods from The Legend of Zelda, A Link to the Past (obviously, therefore, the original designs are theirs, not mine).

These were a devil to make, in some ways, but I think they turned out pretty well.

Materials: dowel rod (cut to length), marbles (shooter size), hot glue, clay, acrylic paint.

I suspect that this is not how anyone else would have made them, but I like the texture and weight that the clay gave to the rods (applied over the dowel). Also it allowed me to create a sort of collar around the marble at the tip.
It was very difficult to keep the marbles ON, and even after they were dried and painted, the tip of the Ice Rod fell off... hence the reason it's in the back.

They're pretty fragile at the tip, so I suspect they may never be actually used in cosplay.
